Kingdom of Pentwyvern Court Ranks
Initiate
A newcomer to the realm of Pentwyvern, this individual is given the title of "initiate" until such time as they have met the conditions for advancement. An Initiate may use (with permission) kingdom resources and (if they have proper garb) may participate in events, but has no say in kingdom affairs.
Freeman / Freemaide
Many other groups and units will subjugate you and force you in to bondage. In Pentwyvern as a Freeman or Freemaide you are truly free to choose your own destiny. You have a seat waiting for you in the Great Hall and you are free to be heard among the court of Pentwyvern.
To become a Freeman or Freemaide you must satisfy the following requirements:
1) Demonstrate a knowledge of the rules, standards, and customs of Dagorhir and The Kingdom of Pentwyvern.
2) Have garb appropriate for participation in garbed events.
3) Have an original name by which to be called.
Freemen and Freemaides are identified by a black belt favor with a white wyvern.
Black Wyvern (Elite Fighter)
Black Wyvern is the name given to a skilled and mighty fighter of the realm. They come from many different backgrounds, but all have made the clamor of battle their calling, their steel as their hallmark, and the way of the warrior their chosen profession.
To become a Black Wyvern you must:
1) Own weapons to fill two hands.
2) Take and elite fighter test.
Using only the weapons and armor that you own you must defeat two Freeman or Freemaides armed with a weapon and shield or two weapons at the same time in under a four minutes.
•You must be in garb to test
•You may only attempt this test once per week.
•A realm member of Master of Mistress level or higher must be present to officiate.
A Black Wyvern is awarded with a chainmaille chain that may be worn from the belt or around the neck to let all who may meet him or her know of their elite warrior status.
White Wyvern
The White Wyverns of Pentwyvern are renowned for their exceptional skills as crafters, artisans, bards, and courtiers. These individuals, skilled in the arts and sciences, play a crucial role in the vitae of the realm.
To be elevated to the rank of White Wyvern one must:
1) Spend no less than eight hours assisting a Master or Mistress of the realm (or Lord/Lady, Knight, Kensman, or King/Queen) with Pentwyvern or Dagorhir oriented projects.
•During this time the individual seeking elevation to White Wyvern status must keep a log of the hours of service spent and what skills or techniques that they have acquired.
•A log book can be downloaded here. This is an example of a filled out log book.
•Upon completion the Master of Mistress overseeing your training will present your case for advancement to the court of Pentwyvern for approval. If approved you will be awarded the status of White Wyvern.
The White Wyverns of Pentwyvern are awarded a white belt favor emblazoned with a black wyvern identifying them to all as an accomplished individual of exceptional ability in the areas of art, science, and service to the realm.
It is possible to test for the ranks of both Black Wyvern and White Wyvern and wear your achievement of a White Wyvern favor with an elite fighter chain.
